I am a native Arizonan- the third daughter born to Yankee parents who migrated from New Hampshire in 1955. I came along during monsoon season - before central air conditioning.
I attended Sunnyslope High School. It was there that I met my future husband and began started dating. I attended Northern Arizona Univeristy and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Creative Arts Management. After graduation from college I moved to Prescott, AZ and briefly managed a small arts school . Then I married that high school sweetheart and moved to West Lafayette, IN in a classic Volkswagen Camper. After 18 months in the Midwest we moved to Boulder, CO. Our son was born in 1985. We moved back to Phoenix in 1987. Our daughter was born in 1989.
We bought a house back in the Sunnyslope area then a couple of years later we moved to the Washington/Orangewood community in Phoenix where we've lived for over 20 years. I started worked for the local school districts while our kids went through school and then began working for the State of Arizona as an IT Help Desk Analyst .
I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and I realized needed to find some new workout that gave me the exercise I needed but also encouraged a life style change. I started practicing yoga at Yogini's in 2013. Immediately saw improvement in my osteoporosis, physical and mental health. I began taking teacher training classes in the Spring of 2012 initially to improve my practice. The training made me realize that I want to share the benefits of hatha yoga with my community.
I officially retired March 2015 to begin teaching yoga as my new career
